Vinpro is a non-profit organisation with core functions including advocacy, people development, technology transfer and specialised services. Vinpro’s support for the Gen-Z Vineyard Project is aligned with Vinpro’s goal to help foster an environment that supports members and industry stakeholders on their path to sustainable development within the South African wine industry.

Vinpro is a non-profit company which represents close to 2 600 South African wine producers, cellars and industry stakeholders. The organisation liaises closely with Government and industry role players on issues that have an impact on the profitability and sustainability of its members and the industry as a whole. It keeps its members and the broader industry informed of industry trends and technical expertise and renders specialised services ranging from soil science to viticulture, agricultural economics and transformation and development.

Vititec, a Vinpro affiliate, contributes significantly to the GEN-Z Project through expertise as well as grapevine material donations for the cultivar, clone and rootstock demo sites.

Vititec is a trusted producer of high quality clonal material in the Western Cape wine industry. The company’s daily operations include the development, production, marketing and supply of viticultural and oenological selected plant material in the form of grafted vines and vine plant material suitable for grafting.

The GEN-Z Vineyard Project is also dependent on the goodwill, expertise and support of the nurseries, seed, irrigation, fertilizer and vineyard material suppliers and specialists.
