Clones
Clones are selected for their sensitivity to environmental conditions, growth habit, quality and yield potential and are a valuable tool for winemakers in the endeavour to craft wines of complexity. A clone of a selected cultivar may offer benefits such as earlier ripening, small berry size, a specific aromatic profile and desirable juice characteristics. A clone’s performance is altered by the environmental conditions in which the grapevine is cultivated. The Gen-Z clone demos therefore enable comparative evaluation of clones under diverse environmental conditions.
